In 2019 the old Schoolhouse adjacent to the Village Hall was purchased on behalf of the community. Together the Village Hall and the Schoolhouse are now known as Glenfarg Community Centre. The extra indoor and outdoor space will enable us to provide an extended range of activities such as cafe, consultation rooms, arts and craft activities, childcare facilities and more.
A huge thank you to all the volunteers who have helped with preparing both outdoors and indoors spaces. It's been a mammoth task! The village community will benefit from your endeavours for many years to come.
Work started with clearing some trees in the garden.
After the trees had been cleared, the next task was to remove roots and stones and lay the new lawn.
All this hard work resulted in a lovely new lawn!
After Covid delays we were finally ready to start with the refurbishment work inside.....
Once again, a HUGE thank you to all the volunteers for your hard work and dedication coming week after week to strip walls, sand skirting, hang wallpaper, paint walls and ceilings and much more! There is still some work to do, so if anyone would like to help out, please contact the Secretary (email below)!
At the 2022 Village Shindig we shared our progress and invited members of the community to vote on a new logo and here it is! Thanks to Ineke Watt for the great design!
We are now starting to plan for different activities to be provided at the Community Centre so if you have any ideas or would like to join our merry band of volunteers please contact:
